stacinator so simple is not so simple...advice?

So I was really excited when my 3 mo moved up a size in covers because that meant I could buy new ones! I decided to try some stacinator so simple covers because DS has chunky thighs and these promised no red marks. I have be using them for about a month and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. 5 out of 6 times using them (regardless of time of day or night) the fleece wicks out onto his clothing. I have a diaper service and use prefolds with a snappi. I try to make sure that the diaper isn't touching the fleece when I put them on but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Help me like these covers! I was so excited and now I have three covers that I barely use because it will mean a clothes change everytime.

Fleece does wick if it's left on for too long.

That's the thing that is so frustrating to me. I can change him ever hour or so with only one or two pees in the diaper and it still is a problem. I would understand if I let him go for hours with a soaking wet diaper but I don't. I'm going to keep trying though.

I have a so simple cover and it's awful. Just doesn't work, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. The idea is good but the execution...no. Sell them off and get some Imse Vimse or Nikkis--no red marks with either of those and Nikkis are great over prefolds. IV soft cover comes with snaps now too, good for chubbos!

That sounds so frustrating! If it's fleece you can try washing it with some fabric softener. It's generally a big no-no for cloth diapers, but in this case you want it to repel water and the softener can help with that.

We have one stacinator cover, and i often lay an extra piece of fleece in there before diapering.
have you tried polar babies? I have one that I got used at a garage sale, and its one of our best covers. it has velcro and snaps.

thanks everyone! I'm glad to know it's not just me. My husband seems to think they are ok and just thinks its something I'm doing wrong. I might keep them just so that he needs to do the changes since I put them on "wrong".

If you want a nice, breathable cover, try the Dancing Bears or the Polar Bummi. No wicking there! I liked the SSS but if it isn't working for you, try something else.
