I picked up some Rainbow Lites at CVS-- about $10/ 50 pills. I've used them for about 2wks and they have been fine-- except they are huge! I am a gaggy pill taker as it is, it takes me a couple gulps of a drink to get it down. Anything for baby

I was taking Rainbow Light One but googled red raspberry leaf and saw some conflicting info on whether it was safe in the first trimester? I haven't had time to research further, but stopped taking them and just taking my folic and vit D for a few days until I could look into it more.

What can you all tell me about the safety of red raspberry leaf in first tri?

Any special considerations to think about with vitamins when still bfing and preggo? I am still nursing my 19 month old and actually haven't even started taking a prenatal yet. This pregnancy was a surprise and I just found out last week. I bought the New Chapter Perfect Prenatal today, but wasn't sure if the lemon balm in it would affect my milk supply?

lilly Im not sure if it will or not but I think unless you have supply problems at 19 months nothing really affected my supply one way or the other. hth!

THe only ones that I could take that didn't either make me vomit or make me too constipated were a brand called Neo-Tinic. I can no longer get them here in Canada so I'm just eating my Wheatabix (iron) and lots of broccoli :P

I too do New Chapter Organics Perfect Prenatal and love them. I feel so alive on them and I'm convinced it is because they are a whole food vitamins and not synthetic. I also needed a lower iron one because I have really high levels to begin with.. They are pricey but I love that they have probiotics in them..

I'm taking new chapter prenatals and alternate with a raw complete prenatal.. I also take a b-complex in the mornings and a probiotic supplement occasionally. I want to feel great during this pregnancy.

eta: oh yeah, I also take an omega 3 DHA supplement.

See which vitamins for women and children have the most and least lead.

i tried ordering the Rainbow Light Just Once Prenatal One the other day and it's back ordered. vitacost canceled my order of them since they don't know when they'll be back in stock. now i'm not sure what to do for a multivitamin. i wanted them because they seemed like as healthy as i can afford. i read all the comments to that article, which have me feeling even more conflicted. OH, and my kiddos multivitamin is on the lead list too!

and then i came across this: My search for lead-free prenatal vitamins.
