I've coslept (shared a bed) with all three of my kids at different times. Ds2 and I currently cosleep alone.
A few nights ago I woke up around 2 am to find ds2 under my down comforter. I pulled the comforter off his face, but didn't think much of it at first because I was overtired and groggy. I had fallen asleep nursing him (as I often do) and somehow the comforter had gotten completely over his face. My arm had been over his head and resting on it. The sleeve of my shirt was wet with his sweat. After pulling the comforter off his face, I got up to go to the bathroom and was in there when I noticed my sleeve. I tried to keep myself calm and got back to the room quickly. I pulled the comforter completely off of him and realized that his pajamas were wet with sweat and his hair was drenched. He was sleeping very deeply and I rubbed his chest and ran my fingers through his hair without him waking. (This is very odd for my ds, who wakes really easily if he's touched.) Thank goodness he was breathing. About half an hour later he woke up to nurse.
I just wanted to share this in case any of you are sleeping with a young baby and a down (or other fluffy) comforter. I'm still cosleeping and using the comforter, but this was my wake-up call to be safer and keep the comforter lower on the bed and our bodies. I've also been staying up too late and I think my sleep deprivation contributed to me not waking sooner when he was covered.

I'm glad he's ok! We had a few of those moments ourselves - but Lincoln has always hated covers and gets rid of them quickly.
