That's when I realized that perhaps I shouldn't shop at goodwill very often. When clothes are cheap I tend to buy stuff that doesn't fit very well... because... well, it was cheap!

I love the feeling of taking big loads of stuff to Goodwill! Keep up the momentum!
My friend told us a funny story the other day. Friend found a box from a tylenol bottle in her mom's bathroom, and threw it away. Keep in mind it was just the box, not even the bottle. Her mom freaked out on her about throwing away that empty box, because apparently it was from the stone age or something and had no bar code. I guess it was before the days of bar codes...that's how long she'd had it. She wanted to keep the empty tylenol box because. it. had. no. bar code.

I have that same problem. I'm always working on it. Although it has gotten better since DS came along-I like to buy him cute things so I spend money on him instead of myself. And then I realize just how many clothes he has and I realize I haven't come very far yet!

Though I admit I do without a lot of things these days because it would be a trip downstairs and back up.

Yeah, thats what I said when I was pg with dd2 and our old dog died. We adopted a puppy about a month later.

I used to do this. I now make myself put stuff back if it is not something I would buy new, even if it is the best deal in history.

OMGoodness. That sounds JUST like something my mom would so. Seriously. I have been cleaning out her bathrooms and moving stuff to her new apartment, and she would probably FREAK at the stuff I have thrown away, but seriously, a plastic tube to measure lung capacity?!?! And I have tossed stuff that expired before I was married - we're talking 90's, here, folks. Meaning she has moved it twice at least.

Can I just say prenatal massage is the BEST THING EVER!!!

My back is sore, but it was oh, so worth it. It is a totally different kind of pain than when it is just out and the muscles are all tight, iykwim. Now if I can just manage a nice warm bath tonight. And my housecleaners come tomorrow! This is turning out to be a pretty good week!

Just now, while laying on the couch, watching Glee, baby pummeled my bladder and it made me jump!

Baby's movements are getting stronger, if still random. I actually felt it on the outside briefly last night.
I've read a few times that 17-20 weeks is when baby's ears come 'online' so maybe baby really likes Wicked.

FYI: Video baby monitor on kids.woot.com tonight for $70, vs the Target price tag of $150

http://kids.woot.com/

Woot is a deal a day site, so the item is there for 24 hours, or until it sells out. Other deal a day sites for kids stuff:
http://www.mamabargains.com/
http://www.babysteals.com/
http://www.ecobabybuys.com/
http://www.greenbabybargains.com/

I'm sure there are others, these are just the ones in my bookmarks. Anyone know of another one?

Oh, and on video baby monitors, I always thought they were a little creepy (spying on your kids!) until I started putting my girls down for naps by themselves and learned that they have bat ears, and if you tiptoe down the hall and poke your head in to see if they are asleep yet, they will hear you. They sleep through the marching band that practices on our street, but their little bat ears can hear me not picking them up every time. Plus, you never want to interrupt a quietly playing toddler, but knowing they are not climbing on top of their dresser in order to hang from the curtain rod = priceless.

can it be 9am please? I am so nervous!

ok a TMI question, but I am just wondering....

my mom came to the ER with me last week and they did the swab to see if I leaked fluid...after the Dr. left she said I needed to shave and get a wax down there....
I have never been big on that, maybe MAYBE a bikini wax beginning of summer...but I certainly have never worried otherwise. I asked my friend and she said she always shaved during pregnancy, especially during pregnancy...
So do you shave/wax during pregnancy? it's the least of my worries....but now I am paranoid. My mom said Dr.'s think it's gross....

uh, they do? i think they see some pretty gross stuff, and who cares? i mean, they chose to spend their careers looking at our "down there" parts. i don't honestly think pubes are even a blip on an OB's (or ER drs') radar. if i had a dr. worried about that, i'd totally think s/he was a perve.

i wonder whether your mom was subjected to the shave/enema when she gave birth? i think that stuff was standard for awhile b/c of sort-of increased convenience for drs and nurses... still trying to understand that...

i'm personally not worried, but i may keep trimming for length, for my own comfort, as long as i can do it without fear of injury to my bits.

carley, ok, i was sure the dead chickens were on this thread - sorry! jeez, i really hope they can find the arsonist soon.

afm, still wondering if some of the gas or digestion-type pains i'm feeling could be baby, only b/c i'm 18-plus now. the only thing is, they are uncomfortable, like painful feelings. i expected friendly nudges, tickles, happy and nice feelings. but these are always annoying, and sometimes actually hurt! hm, my verdict is still out...

Erika, I seriously doubt that the doctor noticed or cared. It sounds like your mom thinks it's gross (not trying to be mean, but I think that's her mindset). I am so not worried about that and by the time I get to labor I really won't care.

I occasionally shave my bikini line, just because I hate seeing pubes outside my underwear. But, I was actually going to ask you guys if any of you see to have any extra hair... down there. And I mean WAY down there. If I tried to shave that far back I'd be sooooo itchy!

I bet that the gas cramps are masking the baby. Go away gas!

Ugh. The peak flow meter. My midwife wants me using mine once a week. I honestly only even HAVE it because BCBS sent it to me for free a couple years ago, and I'm a pack rat, and never threw it away. I hate that thing. It makes me dizzy, and when I can only get it up to 400, but then DH can go behind me and get it all the way to the top, I start to feel bad about my lung capacity! I've used it ONCE since she asked me to start using it.
rhiorion, why do you need a peak/flow meter? i've only ever seen/helped other people use them...

well, i DID go to my favorite cheap mexican place for lunch yesterday, so maybe the extra discomfort was related??

still, wondering if anyone else experiences baby moving as uncomfortable primarily.

This is my mother. My little brother and I cleaned my parents house over labor day weekend and hauled out 7 55gallon bags of trash from their 1000 sq ft house, plus took 4 bags of clothes to donate and put aside three huge plastic tubs of stuff to sell at the yard sale.

Of course a week later the house looked exactly the same. Seriously, my mother had 7 sets of hot rollers. She only has one head!!! She also had 5 hair dryers, 19 brushes, 32 empty pill bottles and 11 pairs of identical shoes in the same size. Oy. It's crazy making, fur real.

afm going to see my MW this morning and schedule my anatomy scan , then off to a baby shower tonight for a very dear friend of mine who has struggled with repeated miscarriage over the last few years, but is finally pregnant with a healthy baby girl! We're so excited for them. Have you ever met someone you just KNOW should be a parent? That's totally her and her hubby. They took a break from TTC and adopted the baby of a teen mom in our church and then got pg. Their little girls will be right at 18 months apart. YAY!

I have asthma, and the midwives want to be sure that it's staying fully controlled on my normal controller med (advair). Reduced peak flow readings can be an early warning of breathing problems, so they want to be able to catch any issues early and deal with them.

Peace+Hope: I have felt baby movement as uncomfortable, and sometimes as painful. I mean a good kick to the bladder is not gentle! Sometimes I feel this stretchy feeling that is quite uncomfortable and then I'd get a hand and foot push from the baby....like they were stretching way out:P

The chicken stories...no way will I ever own chickens. My dad had them when I was little, and I still am recovering from the trauma!

Carley: the arson thing is scary. I don't know you're doing it. I have a pathological fear of fires and burning (I had second/third degree burns on my thighs when I was 7). And my family has been through two fires so I'm pretty nutsy about that kind of thing. Hope they catch him soon.

My dh is the pack rat here. He won't let me throw duplicate pictures away! When I clear out the house, I have to do it when he's not around because he can't bear ot part with anything. This is utterly frustrating when you live in a tiny space. We're looking at Ph.D programs and none of them are in the area we live in now. Most of the schools are out of state. I don't even want to think about what's going to be like trying to get him to get rid of stuff. My favorite though is the broken Discman he held onto for years. I finally threw it out when we moved a couple of years ago. The other night he asked me where it was! I had to confess I tossed it, and I thought he was going to cry.

Ugh. See, this is exactly why I'm so bad about throwing things away. Every once in a while I'll want something I haven't seen in years, and go digging through boxes to find it. I get pretty upset when I can't find it, and will look and look and look. So then when I get ready to throw something away I always think, "well, what if I want it later!?"

Ahhh, is that where that song was from? I'm not familiar with Wicked's songs.

No, because I can't stand the regrowth. I'd rather trim wtih clippers, but my husband is horrified at the thought of me using his down there on my amazon forest.

I have to admit, I did do some butt grooming last night so I'd feel a bit cleaner. It's getting very hard to reach though!

I'm usually a brazillian waxer, but I tried once in early pregnancy and OUCH! Never again.

By the time the doc is down there doing any of checks, I figure there will be a lot of fluid and stuff going on, so what's a little hair? No biggie.

Good luck this morning! I can't wait to hear your news.

And, no, I don't shave during pregnancy. I sometimes trim a bit but I don't shave. It would be too dangerous for me as I can sometimes be a bit clumsy.
leaving for my ultrasound....I trimmed last night...gave in..if anything, I feel weird. I refuse to um have it um bald...looks too...little girlish.
I highly doubt my mom cared either when she was 19, she had a homebirth and the midwife didn't show up till AFTER I was born
