This isn't any cheaper, but may be an idea for a DIY version if you're crafty.

I made one of those a few years ago. It was easy to do and turned out super cute!

ya, that. I would expect the sales to start picking up very soon.

Also, just be sure it is a gift for her, and not you. It's a big, expensive toy, it will take up lots of room in your house and probably eat up most of your xmas budget. I'm just saying because I have bought a LOT of things for my kids because I thought they "should have" them, rather than going by what they actually wanted/liked./were interested in.
The big expensive playhouse? totally dissed.
The nice wooden train table and train set? dissed.
Big nice wooden kitchen? Marginal.
PLay tent like the one shown in this thread? Literally cut to pieces with scissors.

i know, probably most parents have already figured this out, but i'm a slow learner i guess, lol!

This one is SO cute for a little one! And Amazon has a lot of other styles. I really like the Playhut houses, because they pop up and fold down for easy storage.

I don't think getting a 1 yo a playhouse is out of line---especially since she has an older sibling. They'll play with it together, and it will be used for a long, long time. We put ours away (playhut) when not in use, and they are still in very good shape.

DD is 19 months so I guess it sounds a little young for a playhouse, but we go to this playplace for kids and she spends the entire time in their playhouse. I asked the owner where she got it and she said it's the pottery barn one.

Thanks for all the affordable links!
