Anyone have kids in year round school?

Does anyone have their kids in a school with a year round schedule (breaks throughout the year, with a shorter summer break) instead of a traditional schedule (minimal breaks throughout the school year, with a 3ish month summer break)?

DD is only 16 months right now, but the school that DH and I would like to send her to once she's kindergarten age has a year round schedule. This particular school attends for 9 weeks, takes 3 weeks off, attends for 9 weeks, etc.

I'm just wondering how working parents handle the breaks throughout the year as far as childcare goes when your kids are still too young to stay home alone.

Our DD goes to a Montessori school (2 years old to eighth grade) which follows the public school system schedule. The school offers an eight week summer camp. DD has off for a few days between the last day of school and summer camp, and then has the whole month of August off. She has a one week Spring break and a one week Christmas break. Since DH and I know the exact schedule, we schedule our vacation time / personal days around these times (typically not together - since it is easier on both our schedules to alternate). DH gets a lot of comp time because he works for the city and does a lot of overtime. He usually has the time to cover large chunks of DD's time off.

My son's school isn't year round but there are others here that are. There are lots of options for "tracking out" (the weeks that the kids aren't in school.) The YMCA offers mini camps as do museums, farms, etc.
