Crop-a-dile snaps

I am a first time mom, due in a couple weeks and I've been venturing to make my own cloth diapers. It's been quite difficult since i don't know anyone who has made them personally, I've been just searching the internet trying to figure it out.

I reciently purchased the "crop-a-dile" to apply snaps to my diapers... Its a hand held tool used to apply snaps... but now that I am attempting to purchase snaps I reolize that there are different types/sizes, most of which can only be applied via a snap press..

Has anyone used this tool before? Or know what type of snaps I can buy to use with it? I went to my local fabric store but the snaps there were really expensive and the ones I bought I can't apply with this tool...

Thanks for any insite!

I am not familiar with the crop-a-dile. But, doesn't the person who sells the tool sell snaps to go with it?

I buy my snaps from KAM snaps. You don't have to use a press, but they have some pliers, that I believe I paid $18 for. The pliers aren't interchangeable with other resin snaps, but the snaps are very reasonably priced. I know that buying snaps from Walmart and Joanns as I had done previously, cost a LOT more than all the snaps I have bought lately. I also like the resin better than the metal, but I have had some issues of them popping off, but no different than the metal ones from WM/JA. And, they are soo much cheaper to replace.

I could never figure out how any WAHMs made any money making snappable diapers, because of the cost of the ones I was using. But, now I know that they use KAM, and some use VeryBaby snaps. Kymberli

So... after searching the internet for several days and visiting every local craft store in attempt to find snaps that actually work with this tool I finally found a customer service number for the company that makes the Crop-a-dile.

She informed me that although the packaging and item description says "sets eyelets, snaps and more!" it does not, in fact set snaps. They sell a product that "looks like a snap, but has an eyelet backing," and that is what they are referring to.

What an incredible waste of time, money and frustration.

Ugh I bought one of these as well, thinking that I would be able to used it for setting snaps in CDs... Frustrating false advertising!
