Cleaner for wood floors?

Thread Starter
What can I buy or make that is safe for my hardwood floors and also my toddler? The floor just gets really grimy and I need to mop frequently so I'd like to have something that I can use several times a week.

TIA!

ETA: What about these ideas on this site?

I'll also add that I rent and the floors finish is kind of shot so I'm not worried about preserving that. It needs to be redone.

Oh, I'm sorry. I don't have to deal with a finish, let alone a peeling one at that, AND in a rental! Yikes.

I wish I had helpful advice. I just felt so bad or your lonely thread.

Hang in there!

I was just reading on another thread about the shark steam mop, it seems like it just uses tap water, so environmentally friendly and toddler safe. I think I am going to try it when I get one of the Bed Bath and Beyond 20% off coupons in the mail.
