where to find gallon-size food containers -- glass or BPA-free plastic?

Does anyone know where I can find gallon-size see-through food containers that aren't made of BPA plastic? I'm trying to replace some unknown plastic ones we use all the time now. Glass would be fine, or plastic that's known to be BPA-free. One gallon = 16 cups, and most of what I see being sold maxes out at 8 cups.

Ideas?

Ikea has glass jars of all sizes in their kitchen section.

Ball makes gallon size jars. I've had the best luck finding those and the half gallon at our farm/home supply store.

That's true ... although we use for the leftovers, and I feel like getting food put in and out of glass jars seems challenging. Something with a wider neck seems more ideal. But maybe beggers can't be choosers. Or maybe it's not as difficult to work with as I'm imagining.

Does anyone save large quantities of leftovers in big jars?

We use glass jars for all sorts of food. My favorite large jars are the ones the chunky applesauce from Trader Joe's comes in. They are a nice tall, cylinder shape with a wide opening....I believe they hold 32 ounces. We use these jars soooo much!

I get a lot of 1/2 gallon, gallon, even some bigger glass ones at the farmers market. The delis get pickles, relish, etc in those sizes. You can usually get them for very cheap - $1 or $2.

You could just buy big gallon jars of pickles/olives and then save the jars

I found these recently when I was browsing the web for something else:

I thought they looked like they might be good for food storage.

I've ordered from this company before and they were really nice to work with. I was unsure of what size container I wanted so they sent me free samples. Shipping was super fast once I ordered as well.

This and it's 1 and 1/2 and 2 and 1/2 gallon friends are on my Christmas list. I like that it has a seal.

I also like this one.

I saw all of these at Old Time Pottery just the other day.

My MIL works at a retirement home and they use the gallon sized pickles there. She brings me the old jars, (they would just recycle them) for free! I have quite a collection now

If you have an Azure drop-off in your area, they carry up to 1/2 gallon canning jars and gallon sized glass jars with screw on lids.
