This is almost a parenting-type question, but do you let your LO eat off your plate?
DS napped late today and was starving when he woke up. DH served him some leftover chicken stew (one of DS's top-3 meals) while I made our supper. DS ate a good chunk and then indicated he was finished. The tortellini & cheese sauce I was making is also one of DS's top-3 faves, so I knew he'd eat more once we sat down to eat, but what I didn't expect was how MUCH more he'd eat. I thought he'd snack a bit and be done, so I just had him in my lap as opposed to his high-chair, but he ate nearly half my portion PLUS some kernel corn (which normally he won't touch with a 10-ft pole).
I try not to obsess over how much DS eats, but would like to expand his variety as we face increasingly picky-toddler habits. To this end I'm thinking about making this sitting-in-mom's lap eating-off-her-plate thing a more regular occurance. Would this be weird? Any tips on making it a little less messy?

My DS at 6yo is still a walking mess. I don't get it, don't they FEEL the food all over their face?!
