breastmilk & colds

Is there proof that taking vitamins & minerals will pass through breastmilk and help my child's cold? Are there vitamins/remedies I need to steer clear of?

DS is almost 2 - so milk is pretty much colostrum right now, right?

Breastmilk in and of itself will help your dd's cold. You have been exposed to the cold from her, and you are now creating antibodies and other immunities that are passed through your breastmilk to her to help her get better.

I thought colostrum was just in the first stages of breastfeeding? Anyway, your beastmilk adjusts to her needs as she grows, so at every age your breastmilk is giving her just what she needs at that specific age.

I don't know anything about what herbs to avoid when nursing, though.
