Does anyone make their own ketchup? It looks easy enough but wondering if there are any recipes out there?

Thanks!

I haven't yet, but really want to! For now, I buy an organic brand to avoid HFCS.

I've had this recipe from the hillbilly housewife but haven't tried it yet. Here's the link: http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/homemadeketchup.htm

For the vinegar - is it cider or white? Do you know?

My mom has made it for years. I think she uses a recipe from the Ball Blue Book, can't remember. It smells really good while cooking, but it isn't anything like storebought ketchup.

No. I would guess whatever you would like to use, though.

I make the ketchup from Nourishing traditions. You use whey in it, not vinegar, I believe. It lasts a long time and it's really good. It goes feel a little thick though, compared to store-bought ketchup.
