sorry i just really needed to do that and seeing as how my three kids would probably be terrified if i did it out loud, i figured i could do it here.
I just talked to one of the worst midwives ever!! UGH! people like her are tone of the biggest reasons i decided to do a homebirth in the first place. No surprise to find out that she has been doing hospital births exclusively for the last ten years
and i am so effing emotional thatshe had me in tears b/c according to her i am not as dedicated to this pregnancy/child as she would be and so she doesn't feel like she should take me on. Ah, hello i wasn't asking her to i just had a few questions about baby's HR and my BP, and if she knew a place where i could rent a cheap fetal doppler. Instead i get her whole shpeil on how dangerous it is and how terrible i am, and my husband more so than me for not making more money, for not saving more money to pay a midwife. Also told me she couldn't believe that i would spend money on a doppler but not a midwife and that i was behaving stupidly. Oh yeah and supposedly we are supposed to take our tax money that is due at the end of the year(my husband is a sub-contractor) and spend that on a midwife. Her exact phrasing was: "So let me get this straight, you are choosing to pay the government money instead of paying a midwife to attend your homebirth, is that the picture you're trying to paint for me?" all in the most degrading voice you can imagine. Stupid me didn't hang up on her b/c somewhere in my brain i still have all those good manners instilled in me by my Aunt(practically raised me). thanks for listening to me rant.
