Need First Dictionary Recommendation

Hi:

My 6 year old is constantly asking me how to spell things. I think that means that's he probably ready for his first dictionary. Does anybody have any recommendations... or ones to avoid?

He's a good reader... but at this age, I think he'd appreciate one with pictures as well as text.

I came looking for the same thing. My daughter is almost 7 and a GREAT reader, but she does obviously ask how to spell things all the time. I'd love to know what's a good resource for her at this age?
