hand expressing

Thread Starter
Even though we are BLW I MAY try some baby rice cereal. This means I need a few Tablespoons of milk. I am always leaking and squirting when DD is nursing but I can't seem to get any milk on purpose. It feels weird to squeeze my breasts now, like rubbing a scar or bruise. Anyway, any hints on expressing a small amount? How about storing milk so I can take advantage of squirting? I have no supplies for storing or pumping etc.

thanks

Storing - any covered, clean receptacle will do!
Sorry in a hurry now, will come back later with some thoughts on hand expression, although I imagine plenty of people will chime in.

Can you collect milk from one side while DD is nursing on the other? Breast massage (whatever feels comfortable) might help more milk to flow. You can use any clean container to store milk. I use baby food jars (requested on Freecycle, since we don't use baby food) - they're a great size as the small ones typically hold 2-3 oz.
