I'm reading this wonderful book right now that I love and have to share. It's called The Source of Miracles 7 Steps to Transforming Your Life Through the Lord's Prayer by Kathleen McGowan.

It's really lovely. It's a great explanation of the prayer as well as gives exercises for each part. I'm really enjoying it and it's really deepening my understanding of it. It just came out....anyone else reading it? How is it impacting the way you relate to the prayer?

Yay!!! I have been loving praying my Rosary; now I can get back out my little string of prayer beads I made for the six petal prayer.

What I really like, is spiritually and religiously, I am in a much better place for this book now than I was, what seems to be so long ago when we read through The Book of Love.

This may be right up my alley at the moment. MLW, you'd know - is it? I've heard a little bit about it.

I'm finding that for me personally, the LoA/spirituality pendulum has swung back toward the middle. Meaning that I went from surrendering completely to God's will, all the way to believing that *I* might actually *be* God (which makes me cringe at the moment), to now a middle ground. Of course this all took place over the course of many, many years, but I'm quite enjoying the middle ground right now. If this book is about that, I'd love to add it to my list!

T- it just came out about a week and a half ago, but it's the same person that wrote The Expected One and the Book of Love we were all gaga over around the same time as Anna, Grandmother of Jesus. It's really about prayer and how to understand the scope of this particular template. I think it shines a different light on LoA....she kind of specifically addresses it in the beginning. *I* think you might like it quite a bit. It's powerful in a very understated way.

T- I think you would like it. She uses The Lord's Prayer as a tool for spiritual transformation. She talks about how it's not just about asking and receiving, though Jesus did in fact say those words. She points out that surrounding those words are some very important teachings. She writes that there are seven pieces to The Lord's Prayer: faith, surrender, service, abundance, forgiveness, conquering obstacles (seven deadly snis), and love. And she makes a very strong point that you have to work through them in order - you cannot just jump to the abundance part thinking you can use it to manifest anything in the world that you want, but you need to develop strong spiritual discipline, align yourself with God, and by doing that, you will begin to see abundance/manifestation much differently than is taught in most self-help books/movies.

PB - How are you doing? I'm working on petal 2 - surrender. I decided to move on because I realized it will take the rest of my life to work through petal 1 - faith. As it is, it'll take this life time and next to work through surrender. If I have trouble trusting God, how ever will I learn to trust the people around me?

I hear ya! I had my father help me on petal one. I needed it. I'm on the second as well. I hadn't identified the feeling, but I'm with you. I think that petal one is definitely life-long and I absolutely agree with you on the why.

Clearly they are all life-long, but I'm really loving how this relates (or doesn't) to law of attraction thinking. This totally cleared that up for me and showed me where the holes were. I feel that my beliefs are already so much more rich because of this book.

Loving using the beads with this too. I have a bracelet I made for the prayer and I find it so comforting. Just lovely.

Don't you also want more of HER though? I think I could listen to her forever. I just started The Book of Love again! I'm listening to it...happily.

Did your dad help explain better the idea of faith? I'm curious to know, but didn't want to pry in case it was not something to share online.

I did not grow up in a spiritual/religious home, and though I have attended church on and off since I was 18 (all Christian churches), I'm still at a loss. So much of it is still like foreign vocabulary at times. Add to that trust issues, and well, it's stretching my mind, heart, and soul.

I haven't listened to her read. I should sample it on iTunes. I just have the books in physical form. I do love her writing though.

It's not her reading, but the person who does it is amazing....all the voices are different and she does the accents really well! It's quite well done.

I will write more when I have a sec. My dad is a minister so he's really good for this sort of thing. I hear ya on the foreign language thing. I will be back though!

PB!!! I miss you too ... so much has happened in this last year. I've thought about you often (and need to email T - I've been thinking about her a lot too). This book, especially the first petal of faith, has brought me through this year. I am on a huge journey of faith right now.  I am going to pick up the book and reread it, but looking back, I know it (the book) came into my life right when I was going to need it most.
