Leaking Amniotic fluid, in hospital til baby comes - Page 3

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe after the steroids do their thing you could do bedrest at home instead of at the hospital? I can't imagine that they're doing much for you there except taking your temp every couple of hours. Even if they end up inducing you at 35 weeks you could maybe go home until that point.

Hang in there!

FWIW, I remember a mama here maybe 3-4 years ago whose water started leaking early (33 weeks?) and the leak eventually closed itself up. She spent most of the time between the leak forming and baby's birth on home bed rest, I think.

It must be very hard not to be with your son. I hope you can work out a way to spend as much time with him as possible.
That happened to Spark (we were in a ddc together with our now-almost-6yos), here's a thread in which she tells her story (she's post #4): http://www.mothering.com/discussions...highlight=leak

thanks again for the kind words, as well as the questions about care & link to Spark's story. I'm hoping to have a good conversation with a new doc today about my options. I am torn about being here because while I'd much rather be at home, we are about 30 min. from the nearest hospital and little guy at this point is still pretty early (32.7 weeks). I just keep on reading and talking about it, not sure I'll ever get 100% peace of mind about the situation. That link is awesome though for stuff to do for my next pregnancy, health-wise, to avoid this whole issue (PPROM). Just hanging loose at the hospital and trying to soak up the rest as well as tell my sweet bun to keep on cooking as long as possible. My son is amazing, he has 'adjusted' to our new norm of visiting and then leaving me here (sob!) but he asked my SIL the other night with some concern: "how is mommy going to get home? will she have to walk??" aw geez. Anyways, I'll keep y'all updated as things go along.

It's so sad this has happened to you. I hope that you're little one stays put for a while longer and that you are able to return home to be with your 3 year old very soon.

You're in my thoughts and prayers.

DDC crashing to say I hope you feel better and that the hospital releases you and baby stays put until 40 weeks

DDC crashing too

You are so strong mama! I've done the extended hospital stay, although for much different reasons, it's so hard to be there and have little ones at home too. It's literally like having your heart torn in half. DH was great about taking video's of "home" and what was going on so I could feel like I was still there sometimes. I spent hours watching them...just a thought. It seems like forever when you're there, but soon it will all be past and you will be able to heal, together as a family. It's a process, but you are an amazing strong mama...

Prayers for health and peace during this struggle.

stay in LO!

Try not to worry too much. Three-year-olds are easily kept busy. It is probably harder on you than the little guy. Hang in there.

Oh my! Hope you can keep your little one cooking for as long as possible. So sorry to hear about the strict rules at the hospital regarding visits from your ds.
