Our third son, Oliver, was born at 3:11 AM 11-10-09. He is 8 lb 7 oz, 20 in with a 37 cm (!!!) head.
Latent labor began Sunday night around 5 pm and hung on until last night around 10:45, when my water broke while laying in bed. Contractions started coming every 2-3 min from there. I believe I pushed for roughly 25 min but it was excruciating. He was born at 3:11. He had some trouble with his heartrate diving during pushing and needed O2 at birth before pinking up very quickly. I had the birth team I'd expected (and cherished) all along. What amazing support. Oliver was my friend's first catch as an apprentice midwife. Special, indeed.
No tears for me, even with that big head. Not much bleeding, either. After pains are evil, as expected. He is nursing well.
Full story and pics soon.
