My 11 m.o. ds wakes many, many times per night and will not go back to sleep without nursing or a bottle. Please don't judge re: the bottles. We do both. It's what works for our family, generally speaking.

Baby wakes many times per night. I nurse him again and again (in our bed while I sleep) until I can't take it anymore, then hand him off to dh. The only way dh can get him back to sleep is by giving him a bottle. This works for a couple hours, then he's awake again and I have him back nursing again. This goes back and forth all night. Well now dh says that ds is eating two or three bottles per night! Plus the nursing! This is getting worse, not better. He is on solids and eats a lot during the day. A growth spurt is possible but I really don't think that is the whole issue. This has been getting progressively worse. He went from a newborn who slept through the night and had to be woken to eat to a baby who wakes up a million times per night.

He will not take a pacifier. What else can we try?

Oh and naps. He won't be put down once he is asleep without waking. I used to lay on a mat on the floor and nurse him until he fell asleep but he won't do that anymore, he just wriggles around, then crawls away. He will fall asleep in the Ergo for hours but he is getting too heavy for me to carry around that long. Or he'll sleep in the car and transfer back and forth from the carseat to the Ergo or stroller but it would be so nice to get him actually "down" for a nap when we are at home.

TIA for any help.
