Babywearing a Preemie...help!

Our baby was born 10 days ago, weighing 2 lbs, 10 oz (I had pre-eclampsia and she was delivered at 33 weeks, 5 days, and also had IUGR as a result of my pre-eclampsia). She is perfectly healthy, just small.

I'd anticipate that she'll be discharged just under 5 lbs, and am looking at various babywearing slings/carriers for her; however, I am overwhelmed at the selection.......

Are there any specific babywearing slings/carriers that stand above the rest for premature infants?

Any and all suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.....

I found a wrap or ring sling to be best with my preemie (came home at 4lbs) because a)I could easily adjust the size of it and keep her nice and secure and b)she came home on an apnea/bradychardia monitor and having her that close to me made it so that no one could touch her.

There is a company called Precious Image Creations and they have an entire product line of shirts and dresses designed to wear your baby skin to skin up to 15 pounds or so. They work for full term infants as well but have a much shorter useful life.

I, too, wore my preemie in a ring sling, and still do 18 months later!
