desperate for a dry night!!

ds is 9 mos now and still wakes up 2-3 times every night. Being quite fed up and ready for a solid night sleep, I went investigating...fed him more-that didn't help...held him more during the day-that didn't help...put a sposie on him- he slept through!! I really don't want to have to keep that up, but don't know what to do for nighttime. We're not having leaks, but I guess since he feels wet, he is waking. I tried a fuzzybunz os w/the microfleece next to skin, but he still woke and this morning his skin felt wet. I will buy or sew whatever it takes...please help!

I have found that the meshy type liners (like on the bummis stay dry doubler) feel drier than fleece.
The only ones I've been able to find would just cover the middle of the diaper, the wet zone. But I need something that would cover the whole front of a fitted diaper (because the wings get wet too, kwim?). I haven't been able to find anything like that so far.

Well, not entirely true- Mother-Ease has "stay dry" liners that are big regtangles. I have one (it's older, and I don't know if they've changed), but I don't find that it feels as dry as the bummis mesh. It's about the same as fleece, it seems.

There is something known as "athletic wicking material" that is used- I don't know if this is the type used in Bummis, or Motherease, or something else. But Rainshine Designs can make a pocket with this as the inner. The WAHM is very nice, and you could ask her about how dry it feels. http://www.rainshinedesigns.com/
I'm actually considering buying a pocket from her, or maybe asking her if she'll make a liner from that fabric.

Anyway, I hope this gives you at least some ideas. Night diapering is a pain! (even with sposies- I don't have great luck with those either.)

It could just have been a coincidence, too. All of my kids were more wakeful at that age b/c they are growing and so busy during the day that they need to catch up on eating at night. It always slowed down after about 12-14 months or so. Now dd sleeps all night again. Hang in there!

Thanks for the info and encouragement! If anyone else has experience w/ nighttime heavy wetter and their stay dry dipe routine, please let me know.

I find a super-do insert inside a pocket diaper does wonders even for heavy wetters at night. If for some reason, that doesn't work, wrap a prefold around the insert and you're set!
