Pubic area pain (please help)

I am not sure if anyone checks this anymore but I need some insight.

I had a vaginal birth, but it was prolonged (42 hours) and I had a 2nd degree tear. The tear seemed to heal up fine, but I have pain in the front clitoral, labial area. It feels like swelling pain. Occasionally, it burns when I wash with soap or pee. I am also still bleeding some (not much) at six weeks pp.

I haven't dtd yet, because the thought of even being touched makes the whole area hurt. I am even tender when I sit.

I just didn't think this kind of pain lasted so long. Has anyone experienced this?

I had pain in what I thought was the clitoral area after Ian's birth, and I asked about it at my 6 week appt. The dr said I had some urethral "bruising and swelling", she thinks I probably had a small urethral tear that we didn't notice, and because that area is "used" often (when you pee!) and irritated easily (when you wipe, when you walk, when you sit) it takes a long time to heal.

I had burning when peeing after this delivery, and about 4 days post partum I contorted myself with a mirror and found a "skid mark" or maybe a small tear on my labia, so I knew where to squirt the water from the peri bottle and which way to lean when I was peeing. It healed a few days later and hasn't given me trouble since.

Bleeding...this time I stopped bleeding by about 3 weeks and the "discharge" stopped at 4 weeks, then hubby and I had some "play time" and I had an O (no sex though) and I started bleeding the next morning. I expected that, your uterus contracts every time you O, so I expected it to push out whatever little bit of blood might be left, but I'm STILL bleeding three days later. I have to wear a pad again! It's rather annoying, and I'm beginning to wonder how long it will last! I expected a bit of spotting, not outright bleeding for days!

I had this up til about 6weeks pp. Sometimes when I'd stand for 10-15 minutes, it'd feel like so much blood rushing to my labia & clitoral area that I'd have to stop standing, though the initial Sitting down didn't feel good either. Same as 2boyz, they thought it was a urethral tear. I got a UTI on top of things... when that went away, the swelling pains went away too, so I vote that they were related.

I just want to chime in that when I get soap "down there" is seems to sting as well. I am pretty sure everything is healed well, so I am not sure what's up. If you find an answer please pass it along.

I use Dr. Bronners Castille soap (peppermint kind) and I have read in other forums that people have reported that it stings their children...so I was leaning towards something in the castille soap being irritating.

I used to use Bronners soap. Now I use Dove sensitive. Last week, I must have got too much soap down there and it burned for a couple of hours. Man oh man did it sting.

I did go to the GYN yesterday. I had been seeing my MW but she referred me to a GYN who she practices with. I told her about the soap and the stinging and she wasnt concerned. She examined me and told me I do not have prolapse (which I was worried about) and that my body is still healing. I am 10 weeks PP and this is baby #4. My oldest is 6 so she says my body has been through alot in a short amount of time. She said I just need time and kegels.

When you are pregnant, you dont really hear too much about the PP period. When I had my first son, the pp period was horrible. I had pain, YI after YI, BV and finally atrophic vaginitis. It took months for my body to heal. This time around, I am not having nearly that kind of trouble but I am so afraid of it turning into something like that again.

This time around, I was just having some burning when I sat. I got rid of my fabric softner and I feel tons better. Now, I am just having some very slight urinary frequency but she feels I may have been bruised a bit. Again, time and kegels should heal all. I hope so.

In a prior visit, my MW suggested applying some good yogurt down there,(its cool and soothing and you can also use it to treat yeast) put on some boxers and go to sleep. Perhaps that would help with anyone who has burning?
