little kaine morris arrived at 5:36AM monday morning(11/9/09), was 5lbs 15 ounces & 16 inches long.
i had woke up to bad pain in my lower back, lower abdomen, and thighs at 3:00AM or so sunday. i did not know they were contractions. everything i had read about them felt differently for me. there was no pattern and the only thing that dulled it out was hot water.
i finally went to the hospital around 8:00/9:00PM sunday. i txt'd my ddc buddy and a couple others. i was dilated to a 5. i finally requested an epidural...
i dilated to 8cm's before a nurse started discussing pitocin, i told her to go away and leave me alone. instead she talked to me about how 'good' they were, i ignored her and quit responding, she finally went away.
babies heart beat started dropping, i was rushed away for a c-section right away... where i cursed endlessly at the nurses and surgeon. they doped me up so bad, i was vomiting. babies heart beat went back to normal. they monitored and sent me back to delivery... where i'd have the kid vaginally.
a couple hours later the epidural wore completely off. i could feel everything, no numbness in my legs, i was normal.
baby started descending into birth canal... i screamed, roared, cursed, and bitched at the nurses. this baby was coming out natural, it hurt badly. he was finally born after 2 hours of pushing or so. he had meconium in his lungs and needed cpr. he is fine now, a very adorable and loving baby boy.
i only had a small 1st degree tear that needed 3 stitches.
he is so tiny i'm scared i'll hurt him. he hates being unswaddled, he breastfeeds like a lil' pro, he also screams like a pro.
he is in my other arm as i type this, he loves looking at mommy.
