Tinker Bell and Tinkerbell & The Lost Treasure...

Have you seen them?

Any reviews?

I usually don't care for the straight to DVD Disney movies but these seem like they might be worth getting.

Although we're pretty much "TV-Free" to "TV-Lite", I still like to have movies at home for when we do have an occasional movie night. And I'm also thinking of getting one movie to put in DD's Christmas stocking. And I think DD would like these. But what about us grown-ups? Are they saccharine and painful to sit through, or would I be happy to watch them?

Also, do I need to get them in order or does The Lost Treasure stand alone OK?

And is there anything questionable for a two year old? She's not overly fearful but can be sensitive at certain things. (Lady & The Tramp had her in tears in the beginning when they were leaving Lady in the kitchen to sleep.)

We are also close to tv free. In my opinion, these are some of the best Disney movies. They both avoid the good guy/bad guy with lots of violence paradigm that I can't stand. I enjoyed both of them and liked the lack of girliness and a strong focus on nature. The first has NO scary scenes. There is a little tenseness in the second but not bad at all. I think they are great.

My boys got this as a gift from their aunt. Yes, it can stand alone. I liked it okay, despite my reluctance to like the Disney fairies. It has a good message and seems wholesome enough. The acting and animation and music seem to be top-quality, unlike some other straight-to-DVD Disney offerings. It was good for my sons to see, because they often get mad at each other and squabble, and in the movie she learns to control her anger in relation to how she treats her friends.

DD has both and loves them both. As I do I. I actually thought the Lost Treasure was better, and had a better message.

I would vote for the first one for a two-year-old. As a PP said, a little less intense/scary. I do think they're both pretty high quality, FWIW.

Agreed - the 2nd one has a *tiny* scary part with rats so I'd avoid that for a 2 yo.
But the first one is great as well AND the music is nice so if you are not stuck watching the background noise is not as awful as some DVDs.
