My turn for "girly talk"

My hubby and I decided to have a little "reconnection" time a few days ago, but I haven't reached the 6 week mark yet, so I wasn't sure whether we should actually DTD or just "have fun". So I put a clean finger up there to see if anything hurt or if I could still feel any stitches. HELLO CERVIX!! It is *right* there, like my finger was only up to my second knuckle.

Now, when I was pregnant it was nearly impossible to reach, I'm sure partially because of my gigantic belly in the way, but it was much higher. I know that's normal, but before I was pregnant I *know* it wasn't this low! I had to reach a little to get to it.

Do I have some prolapse?? And if so...what does that mean? I haven't googled it yet, I'm not entirely sure I want to honestly! So what do you gals know about it??? Anyone else's cervix very low?

Again we are very similar! I could have written this. It's sort of strange how similar we've been. I've been lucky that DH is ill so he's not bothering me (or humping me in his sleep right now) But I don't want to explain that we can't do anything because there is no where for him to go I will say that my cervix has moved up some in the last few weeks. So, I'm just hoping it keeps going in that direction.

Totally TMI, but I think the only thing holding mine in is my cystocele (bladder prolapse).
My family doctor thinks it'll all go back to normal eventually. I don't plan on being single forever, so I hope she's right!

Okay, glad I'm not the only one!! And yes, Melissa, that's what I was worrying about...where is he going to go????

Another worry I have is I joined a marathon training team, we had our first informational meeting a few nights ago, and the kick off is in two weeks. I'm concerned that the OB is going to tell me to not do any impact exercises until this resolves, and I can see the concern, I mean I don't want my cervix to fall out while I'm running!! (um, it can't do that, right?? )

This third baby man, he's causing lots of problems!!

I was shocked by that too, a couple of weeks post baby. And I have the same concerns about sex and running.

I'm nearly 8 weeks now and it's gotten better, but my cystocele- not so much. I'm trying to hold off of exercise other than walking until the new year, to get in more healing time.

My cervix was really low for weeks and I also had a bladder prolapse. I had my pap at 7 1/2 weeks pp and my cervix is up high again and I am not feeling my prolapse. I am still scared to run or do any vigorous exercise but with some more kegels I think things will go back to my new normal. Maybe just give it more time and do those kegels.

I think that's called a grade 1 uterine prolapse, which is pretty much anything from lower-than-its-normal-position to the vaginal opening (just outside it is grade 2).
My MW said no heavy lifting and lots of kegals.

hello all. been writing my dissertation when nico's sleeping, so havne't been active...but hi!

2boyzmama: no running and yes, your cervix/uterus CAN fall out. sorry to be the debbie downer here, but i just started seeing my physical therapist for my prolapse (grade 2 cystocele/rectocele = bladder/rectum collapse). good news is it has stayed the same from baby 1 to baby 2. bad news is it's still there (kinda hoped it would magically disappear).

PT said NO running, no high impact for a while. i didn't feel comfortable running until after i stopped nursing baby 1, when the relaxin left my body and things kinda pulled themselves back up. and i was a BIG runner before baby 1 (3 marathons, 4 1/2 marathons, 6 mi was my normal run...). i miss it.

PT has told me, too, that you can fully collapse (the goods falling out) if you push it too much. she told me a story of a woman in her 30's carrying her stroller w/babe in it up her stoop here in brooklyn whose uterus fell halfway out. horrifying!

and my PT is a totally cool, well studied yogini who does not exaggerate for the sake of shock value. scary, y'all.
