I am currently 13-14 weeks right now with #4 (preg. #6). This will be a VBAC, as DD2 was born by emergent C/S because she turned transverse during delivery.
I have only found one person, and when I talked to her, she seemed sort of reluctant.
DEM/CPMs are a questionable status, they are not legal and they are not illegal in this state. But we have recently had a family criminally charged for a homebirth. We also had a midwife charged a few years ago criminally for practicing medicine without a license.
But where does that leave me. I have always wanted to homebirth after DS1's disasterous hospital birth. But because of family pressure from DH's side of the family, we found middle ground a local birth center with midwifes. His family was still not happy, but at least I had a much better birth experience.
But, I am no longer eligible for the birth center because DS2 came by C/S.
So now I want to go forward with a homebirth and DH is fully on board. We have no plans to tell either side of the family. Based upon my fast labor and delivery history we will pass it off as a accident and didn't know I was in labor till I had to push type of thing.
But, I feel almost alone and have to go through this solo with a UC. We will, because of the climate do shadow care with my OB.
