I'm a nanny to a 19 month old. I've recently been learning about Montessori, and I'd like to start to use some of the principles with her. I plan to ensure one room in my house is really plain and tidy, and put some activities on a low shelf for her to choose. She is very independent, and could really entertain herself for a good couple of hours, which I often let her do, so I'm a bit nervous about how she is going to react to me trying to teach her to get a mat, take the work to the mat, put it back when she is finished etc... Shall I just model this? Or is she too young for the mat? Too young for me to try to get her to use things in specific ways?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.
