Whimpering while sucking??

I've noticed that my DD whimpers while nursing and also when she's sucking her thumb. I think its her way of soothing herself and going to sleep but I wonder if other babes do this and if it could be a sign on her not getting enough milk or still being hungry. Thoughts?

I don't know if I would call it whimpering, but at some feedings my DD will vocalize with every suck/swallow. It's kind of a "hm" sound. I think it's just a desire to express herself; I still have a lot of fast flowing milk, so I know it's not hunger.

I've always called those "yummy" noises. I think there would be a lot more vocalizing than whimpering if baby was still hungry.

Not sure how old your LO is but my 5mo did that a lot as a tiny baby. Now she hums when she starts to doze off but hasn't unlatched LOL.

DS whimpers, whines when nursing. Then he'll start screaming, non-stop. I haven't found a reason yet. He's just sometimes a very angry baby with a temper.
