I know how, have done them on soakers, but they're still leaving holes... I know that there are other ways than wrap and turn, so spam me links on your fave technique, please.

Personally, I prefer yarn overs, but the link to them is there as well.

Using the same language as the above link...

Turning Point
Each short row has a turning point, where the knitting is turned without completing the row.

- On the knit side, Knit to the turning point in the row
- Yarn Forward
- Slip the next stitch purlwise
- Yarn Back
- Turn your work to the Purl side
- Slip the first stitch
- Purl your shortrow to the turning point
- Yarn Back
- Slip the next stitch
- Yarn Forward
- Turn your work to the Knit side
- Slip the first stitch
continue....

I'm currently knitting an Alan Dart pattern and this is the way the short-rows are done. It's not invisible like the above link, but there are no holes and it's easy to do.

The October 28, 2009 entry is a very comprehensive review of all the different short row techniques.

Wonderful! Thank you for all the help! My longies thank you, too. I finally had a chance to sit down with the directions and try them last night, and you guys were right, the YO method is so much easier and more invisible. I will say though that I ran a ladder down to the previous short row to fix the hole and realized I was doing SOMETHING wrong with the wrap and turn, because after fixing it, it's nearly invisible like it should be.
