Changing thread title

Whenever I come on here, it is related in some way to the fact that I am using a Mac, though it sometimes seems as if most folks on MDC use them. I've been trying to alter the title of the "Single mothers by choice?" thread under single parenting to "Single mothers by choice!" which an exclamation point instead of a question mark, as requested by participants of the thread (which I started). But whenever I double click on the title, it sorta gives me the option of changing it, for about half a second, after which it simply opens the thread.

Can you please talk me through how to change the title, or can you change the question mark into an exclamation point for me please ?

On my Mac the easier way to change the thread title and icon is to go to the first post, click edit, and then choose Go Advanced.
