Need an easy meal to bring to friend...

I'm sorry I don't have time to search right now...
My friend just had brain surgery (27wk pregnant and had a brain tumor- benign- removed!). I'm going to visit this afternoon to drop off a meal for her (and her family/caregivers)...I'm not the most experienced cook. Having a hard time thinking of something that is 1. portable 2. easy 3. will feed 6-8. Any suggestions??
TIA!

What about a big bowl of pasta with marinara or meat sauce? If you cannot make a sauce from scratch, used some that comes in a jar. You could pick up leaf of garlic bread to bring along, or, buy a loaf of french bread, slice in half, spread butter and garlic salt lightly, (some herbs are nice too) then bake in the oven on about 300 degrees until butter is melted and lightly toasty. You can then wrap this up (put the two halve of bread aback together) in foil and carry it along.

This is likely too late for today, but for a future idea, I've done burrito fixing for folks when I've dropped off a meal. Make a batch of Mexican rice and put it in a container. Do the protein in another container (either beans or chopped chicken or whatever you like). A package or 2 of shredded cheese, a container of shredded lettuce, a big jar of salsa and a package of large tortillas and you are set. Throw it all in a bag, they can assemble them how and when they like.

Sloppy joes work well, too. Just make a thing of sloppy joe meat (you can even use Manwich if you need to), add a bag of hamburger buns, a dessert (brownies from a box?), and a side dish (salad in a bag and chips).

When I bring food for people, I also like to bring bananas for the morning and sometimes muffins, if I have time.
