Birth of our baby boy Misha

Here a quick first draft of the story of the birth of our little baby boy, Misha, born 11th of november, at 10.20pm.

Our boy was due only on the 21nd of November. As my husband always works abroad, and he already missed the birth of his second child, we thought we played it safe that he would arrive 9 days earlier. Seemed very reasoble. And all seemed well. The plan was that dd1 would stay overnight at a friends, and I would travel with dd2 to my parents to be able to pick dh up at the airport next day. And so we started executing that plan. But when I arrived at my parents, I felt that recognisable pain, and quickly asked my parents to bring me back home. During the one hour drive, I had time to monitor the contractions... and well, it had definitely begun. Every couple of minutes a contraction came up. This was the real thing. At about 9.15 pm I finally got home, I immediately called the midwife. While waiting for the midwife, I quickly blended all windows, turned on the heating... in the meantime trying to ignore the contractions... somebody had to prepare the field, as my husband was still not home. At 9.45pm the first midwife arrived. I still joked that this might stop, but when she checked: 7cm (I remember telling her that I wouldn't think it would be that dilated given that it had had only started a little earlier, and I didn't have any precontractions)... at 10pm the second midwife arrived, and well, the contractions were not too nice anymore,... I yelled that it hurted, that I didn't want any children, that I wanted a fourth one, but not if it hurted that much, etc.. etc... and at 10.20pm, our little baby boy was born!

The daddy? He arrivived home only 12hours after birth... which is better than the 24hours late when dd2 was born... so by the 10th child, he should be able to manage on time ;-)

Hugs,
