banana bread what went wrong??

used this recipe but it came out dense not at all cake or bread like. the taste was ok but because of the density no one wanted it

That is LOTS of sugar for one loaf. I would totally cut out the brown sugar and just use 1/2 cup sugar maybe 3/4 if you really want it that sweet. Make sure to not mix the dough, just fold in a big bowl gently, like a few flour streaks are ok. Use 1 tsp of baking soda and 1 tsp of baking powder to get enough lift in the oven, and bake at 350 for about an hour. In a loaf with eggs, the eggs provide lift in the oven as well, so you can replace them by adding a little baking powder with the soda to make a lighter puffier loaf

Maybe your oven temperature is off?

temperature is fine I have a seperate oven thermometer and so far everything always comes out great.
Might try it again with your mods this weekend thanks!
