small prefold in medium cover?

my 7 wk old baby has already grown out of his small GMD prefolds and small bummis super snap covers. can i just use the small prefold in a medium bummis cover? i'm figuring at this rate of growing, he will grow out of the mediums in no time! he is 15 lbs and the medium has a 20 lbs estimated size limit.

ETA: would it be a good investment to just go ahead and buy some fitted one size diapers?

I use infant-size prefolds in my medium covers and it's been working fine! I can't Snappi them because Peepers is too big, but they work well without being fastened.

We're still using the small prefolds with larger covers. The next size up prefold is SO BIG on him and we only use them for overnight now. The small prefold barely snappis but it still does the job!

I don't think he'll outgrow mediums any time soon (if ever). My son was 40 lbs when he pt'ed and could still wear medium covers. We had larges but they are HUGE.

wow, what a chunkaroo! great job growing him! I love chunkers. my 22month old is a nice hefty 30lbs. AND she was a 33week preemie. I'm so proud!
If it helps, she's still in medium bummis covers at 30lbs. She wears a medium swaddlebees and a medium bummis cover with her flats. You can use whatever prefolds fit with whatever covers fit. And cover size varies from brand to brand unfortunately. Litewraps and thirsties are HUGE! My 38lb almost 5 year old daughter can fit in a medium thirsties. So don't bother with worrying about larges for now. One-size fitteds are great to invest in at a young age but he may never outgrow mediums. It's kinda a tough gamble to make.

i tried lots of OS fitteds but never liked them b/c they take SO LONG to dry. JMHO

go with flats or even 2 newborn or 2 small prefolds inside the med cover...will work awesome, save money and wash/dry quickly
