If the baby is breastfeeding through the night, and has no bottles or pacifiers, then there's 2% chance of pregnancy before 4 months from lactational amenorreah. That said, there are plenty of examples of people in that 2%, so it does happen.

My neighbor became pregnant 8 weeks after she had her son. She EBF and didn't think anything of it when she missed her period until she got morning sickness and her breasts started to hurt really bad when her Ds nursed! It happens but not a lot as the PP said.

DH and I had unprotected sex at 4 wks PP. i am supposed to be getting my tubes tied in 4 weeks. i know they will test before the surgery but i was wondering what my chances were. i dont think i could handle babies that were NB and 11 mo at the same time! wowza. but it doesnt sound like i have too much to worry about.

That kind of story is what is keeping my DH lonely. We've not used BC in years and needed some help to conceive the baby I just had. I suspect I've been having fertile cervical fluid this week. He's not getting past third base until my sleep is normal enough to start charting again.

Yeah, my mom and her sister are 11 months apart. My mom had whopping cough as a tiny infant, which disrupted BF'ing for a few days and as a result, she got a sister.

My first two are 11 months apart. I ebf. I had no pp period. Lol, to tell the truth I don't remember having sex, but that must have happened at some point :P .
My brother and sister are 11 months apart as well.

My eldest 3 brothers were born within a 22 month period, July 20th, following June 20th and then following May 20th. Mum was EBF and never had a period. I EBF and AF came back at 6weeks PP, so i assume i O'd at 4weeks PP.

I ovulated at around 6 weeks postpartum after baby #2. My LP was about 9 days so it probably was technically long enough to get pregnant. I was EBF but DD had long stretches between nursing sessions at times. I get AF back relatively early no matter what though.

My biological sister and I (birth name Murphy) are not quite 11 months apart. We're Irish Irish twins.

I knew a guy when I was in the military that got his wife knocked up about 3 weeks pp. Two children in slightly less than 10 months. Had their hands full.

Then a neighbor of a friend had 4 kids... like stair-steps. One was 9. Next was 8. Then 7, then 7. Her youngest two were nine months apart almost to the day. The last one was a bit early, but she conceived at about 3 weeks pp.

So I guess it happens more than we realize, eh? My closest two were 15 months apart (#2 and #3) so they weren't quite Irish twins. Close enough to run me ragged, though!

It's threads like these, that make you consider closing up shop.
