I stopped nursing my now 18 month old about 8 weeks ago because I am pregnant. I know that you can bf during pregnancy, but I was afraid because I have had a miscarriage before and I get very sick in the first trimester and knew it would be tough since I can barely eat anything. My OB recommended stopping because I have a blood clotting disorder that interferes with folic acid absorption and didn't want to chance the baby not getting all the extra supplementation I take during pregnancy. So of course, I stopped even though it was tough on us both. Everything has been going fine but lately I wish I could still nurse him, especially with all the viruses floating around through the winter months. But I'm thinking this is probably a bad idea...just wondering though, if you've ever heard of anyone relacting after stopping during pregnancy. I am now 15 weeks, is this too risky??

Relactating during pregnancy

I did forget to mention that I do know someone with the same blood clotting disorder who nurse throughout pregnancy without problem. I think my OB tends to think it's a bad idea in general, so that is the only reason I would go against her advice.
Saying that, I am pretty sure I am dried up, I just didn't know if relactating is even possible at this point. My DH thinks that since he is weaned and is doing fine we should leave it at that. I guess it's just me being emotional about stopping when I didn't want to, and wondering if our nursing bond could be restored now that I am not so sick and eating just fine.
