St. Louis Buder Library Monthly Playdates?

I am one step closer to talking Buder into letting us use their spare room on the children's floor for playdates. The woman who runs the children's floor said Saturdays work best for them. I was wondering if there is any interest here in having a monthly scheduled Saturday playdate at Buder?

If so, please let me know and I will pursue this further.

I have a feeling this could go either way but it is worth trying for so we can have a regular indoor play space where no one has to spend money to participate.

I requested a weekday or Sundays but weekdays are full and Sunday the third floor is run by other employees so they would rather not have meetings there on that day. If a certain Saturday in November and december works best please let me know ASAP. I am supposed to call her back Saturday at the latest to see if there is enough interest and if they are going to let us use the room.

Also what time of day on a saturday is best?

I am in if you can get it all organized, please let me know! I have my 9 year old son who loves all kids and he is so sweet, he would play with any age child.

I think it would be nice to have a regular monthly playdate. We try to do things before or after naptime. Mornings are usually best on Saturdays. Maybe 10 or 10:30. Or after 2?

I will call them back and see if we can do something between 10 and lunch time. I wish we could do it there during the week but they are all booked up. The best thing about the library is it is free! I hope they say yes.

The woman who runs the children's floor was all for it but I know she needed to ask her superiors.

Is there an upcoming date anyone is free for? I will be helpful if I have a date. Like third saturday of every month or something. Or first saturday of the month and have the first one in December.

My preference is 2nd Saturdays because of my work schedule.

Unfortunately, weekends just are usually not good for us. We will try to drop in sometimes though.

I spoke with the woman who runs the children area today and she told me to expect final word some time this week.

I was hoping for the second Saturday in December but if they do not call me back soon it doesn't look like they are going to let us use their room. I really hope they do because winter can be so boring!

(that said, the second saturday wouldn't work for us, as that's LLL in south county, which I try to get to, and also the weekend I might be likely to go up to Peoria to visit the AP group there at their monthly meetings.)

We definitely should not schedule it on a day there is an LLL meeting if that will interfere. With holidays coming up it is hard to find a weekend it will work. Third week in december?

UPDATE: We're in

Although we cannot use the children's area we can use a large meeting space elsewhere in the library any day of the week we would like. I was told that Mondays and Thursday are best. She said there are no toys there but we are free to bring anything we'd like for the kids to play with.

I can schedule us once a month for a play date and the room fits up to 60 people.

I know a lot of people expressed that a weekday would be best. Is anyone up for the first Thursday in December? If another date would work better please let me know ASAP. I would love to pick the day of the week/month that works best for most families.

I am supposed to call on friday to schedule our first play date.

thursdays is the same day as the breastfeeding group at kangaroo kids, so i could not make that day.

I have a midwife appointment the first Thursday in December, but we'll be free in the afternoon anytime after 12:30 or so, since P has a half-day at school.
Regular weekdays when she's in school, were not available before 3:45ish.

Okay Thursday is a no for several people. How about the first Monday of each month from 10 am to 1:30 pm? I could go up there at 10 and everyone else can file in as you get there and we could start cleaning up around 1 or a little after.

that works for us, (As long as I can get my van up and running)
