It really depends on the person and their babies.. everyone grows babies differently.

OMG that would be huge for me. DD1 was 8 days over and 6 lb 10 oz and DD2 was 3 days over and only 3 oz. bigger than DD1.

That said, I didn't have bowel issues before either of my births. I'm sure you know this BUT keep in mind dehydration can cause contractions. If you are having as much of a bowel issue as you are I'd make sure to keep as hydrated as possible. I know there are a couple posts in the "I'm not going to make it to Dec." thread about stopping labour. Maybe go get a nice German beer (I know that was mentioned) and hit the tub?

FWIW I had pretty loose stools for maybe a week or two before going into labor. By the time I actually had my baby (41+2) I was pretty cleaned out.

I only had poos the night labor began.

With dd, my first, i had diarrhea that morning and went into labor in the afternoon. With ds, i had diarrhea an hour or two after contractions had started. But I wanted to throw out there that I had diarrhea all of last week with this pregnancy (from 34-35 weeks), and i think it was actually just a stomach bug. I got a lil bit panicky about the baby coming way too early (or about prelabor discomfort lasting a month or more!), but it went away and then my dh had it, so it wasn't anything significant. So don't get ahead of yourself, it may be nothing... but of course, keep a watchful eye I hope you're feeling better soon!

I just think that 34 weeks is so risky.
Quite honestly, I am not likely to go into labor before 39wks. That is just my "style". But who knows, and that is why I plan and prepare.

As for actually UCing as early as 34 wks, well, that is a decision that I don't make based on OL conversations (no offense intended), I just share the conclusions my DH and I come to regarding our decisions.

I wish I had some "sign" that labor was pending. Even if it were diarrhea. It would be nice to know. I am usually sideswiped with contractions that go suddenly from zilch to 5minutes apart in less than an hour with birth not far after.

A freaking month. It's not like it ramped up closer to delivery either. It pretty much stayed the same.

Good luck to you.

With both of my previous labors, I never had bloody show or obvious loss of mucus plug until I was in full blown active labor. Never had diarrhea. The night I went into labor with DD I had terrible constipation in fact. It was annoying (and unusual for me). My body apparently doesn't like to warn me in advance.

I hope that you can hang in there a few more weeks and it isn't a sign of impending labor for you mama.

omg, i just know this is going to happen to me. i had diarrhea at the beginning of this pregnancy for a couple of weeks, and i usually get it with cramps during my periods.

i can't really be helpful since this is my first pregnancy, but i wanted to offer you a and say, as long as you can stay hydrated, i hope this helps prepare your body well for labor (and that you don't deliver earlier than is comfortable for you).

i've read lots of birthing stories in which moms report emptying their bowels throughout early labor. i console myself thinking, well, it would be worse to have it while pushing! also, if my uterus can make my digestive system act this way, it must be really good at what it's doing!

I'm not dilated any so I think that I just have extremely strong and painful BH

As far as the diarrhea issue goes, it is slowing, finally. I'm only going once a day, and though still loose, it does give me some warning. Before I'd just sit down to pee and it would just come out without me even trying a bit... sorry if that's gross, lol. Now I get horrible cramps that make me run in the direction of the bathroom. It's very sudden, but there is warning. Before it just took an exit whenever it decided to. Yuck.

Contractions are getting stroner but way less frequent. I drink at least 64oz of water per day (I've got a 24oz stainless steel water bottle and I drink at least 3 of them most days).

I am glad you are doing better. Hope it improves much more.
