A "Scholarly" or "Research" Forum?

As a student mother, there have been numerous times when I'm doing a research paper on various aspects of natural parenting. I know the members of MDC are a fabulous resource, some having access to articles and resources that the average person may not have. Is there a possibility of a forum where people can go to get such resources? Many times a request would fit in several forums, so it would be nice to have one forum where there is just an exchange of information and no debate.

Right now I'm doing a paper on breastfeeding in prehistory as well as one on American Indian child-rearing practices pre-contact, and another on childbirth in Medieval Europe (I'm being kept busy this semester!). I'm sure there are many MDCers who are knowledgeable on these subjects, and it would be really cool to have a place where such information can be exchanged.

Just a thought...

You mean like an academics area? I can add it to the list we currently have going. It sounds very interesting.

Many Native American tribes did not believe in physical punishment, I am sure you will find much that is interesting. You might check in the Native American thread in FYT.

Exactly. Academic, for sure. About a year ago I did a paper on breast taboos in the US and a lot of MDCers gave me access to articles and studies that I never could have found (or accessed without a membership of some sort) on my own. It was so very helpful.

I know the early settlers were appalled at the "indulgences" given American Indian children, and were shocked that corporal punishment was not part of child-rearing. I think it's an intriguing topic, but I'm biased!
