A funny thing happened today :)

We did EC 80% of the time with cloth backup until DS started to crawl, and then he went on an extended potty break. I've just started trying to pick it up again with mixed success! We're combining this with sign language so he can tell us when he needs to go.

Today I "missed" a poo in his nappy, so I changed him but didn't put the pooey nappy in the bucket straight away - silly I know!

Anyway, I look up when I hear DS clapping, and see him doing the toilet sign and clapping himself. He normally does this after he's done something in the potty as we make a big song and dance about it. I walk over and see a poo in the potty and think NO did he put himself on the potty and go?! (It's hot in Aus at the moment so lots of nakey butt time).

Obviously he's learned the "poo goes in the potty" lesson a little too well, as he transplanted the poo from the nappy into the potty while I wasn't looking, AND decided that deserved a round of applause. Made my day, so funny!

That's hilarious. My non uc kids have done that too, but then again I didn't know they had pooped until the smell hit me usually LOL! Smart cookie you have there LOL!

Okay, sweetie, next we learn about rinsing out the diaper and running a load of laundry?? Maybe not.

So cute!

It's funny you should mention that sapphire....

It all started because I thought DS would get a kick out of watching the front loading washing machine go round and round and round. Now, the laundry is is favourite room in the house.

He's also going through the "stuff in stuff" phase, where he's putting things in drawers, and blocks in container etc. So, one of his favourite jobs right now is loading the dirty washing in into the front loader, helping me close the door and pressing the go button on the washing machine. I figure I'd rather us do the washing together than him be in his playpen alone while I do the washing - or is this just my justification for child slavery? hehe

However, I saw him dragging the broom around the other day and also saw him try to wipe down the dining table. Hopefully he's just copying me, rather than some kind of OCD I've created in him
