What to do with crayons

I have a bunch of crayons that don't color very well and always break, basically they are cheap. Looking for other uses for crayonse, thinking melting them somehow. Maybe adding them to candels for coloring or something, although I don't make candels. Ideas?

You can shave them and melt them with an iron in between two pieces of wax paper(make sure to protect your iron and the surface you're working on)to make "stained glass".It's real cute cut into leaf shapes hung in the windows.

crayon cookies

Break the crayons up into an aluminum disposable muffin pan. Melt in oven. Let cool. Pop out of muffin pan (Believe me, you don't want to use a muffin pan you cook food in.) and you can color. Try making monotone crayons (several different greens together, for instance) or rainbow crayons. Great for toddlers as they are easy to hold, hard to break, and too big to stick in the mouth...well, I guess they could take a bite out of one, but they're a bit hard for that.

You can use crayons to color plain white paraffin wax when making candles. Melt the crayons into the wax. Use more or less crayons to get lighter or darker colors.

We make crayons out of our broken crayon pieces with a silicon ice cube tray. I've discovered that if you cook them a little too long, instead of just melting, the pigments sink to the bottom. The result is crayons that work really well on the bottom and a layer of wax on top.
