So, I want to keep my reading as light and fluffy as possible

What's your recommendations for chick lit or woman's fiction!

sophie kinsella is good

Judith McNaught

I got into her books from a recommendation here, and now passing it on. It is so FUN, and mindless, and hard to put down.

Start with Perfect; it has outstanding reviews on Amazon for a reason.

Another good one is Mr. Maybe by Jane Green. It has a tiny bit more substance to it (not much though ), but it is just as hard to put down. Very passionate, but not overly dirty.

I like Jennifer Crusie and Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I also really like Adriana Trigiani for not quite so fluffy, but still light, entertaining reads.

I second Jennifer Cruisie and Susan Elizabeth Phillips! First Lady is one of my all-time favourite reads.

How do you feel about vampires and werewolves? You can get some really fun fluffy stuff in that genre: Charlaine Harris is great and Mary Janice Davidson is about as fluffy as it gets.

That's my favorite one of hers, although I haven't read that many. There is a murder mystery component to it, however.

What exactly do you want with light and fluffy? Like humorous, or is a little bit of danger and adversity OK? Are romance novels OK, or do you want stuff a little more serious? I've read some fun young adult spy or adventure novels, but there are times when the kids lives are in danger. I've read some folksy Christmas themed books, but some of those have some adversity. I'm looking through my GoodReads list right now to see what might fit the bill. Fannie Flagg can be pretty heartwarming. I really enjoyed Standing in the Rainbow and Welcome to the World, Baby Girl!

The one of Susan Elizabeth Phillips I've most enjoyed was Natural Born Charmer but I haven't read First Lady. I also like reading the ones by Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick, especially the ones written as Amanda Quick set in...Victorian era London, I think. Complete fluff.

Nuts, I had another thought, but it completely escaped me. Oh well, the Christopher Moore vampire books are funny and not really disturbing. The Charlaine Harris stuff gets pretty grisly by the end. Oh, I remembered, the Stephanie Plum stuff by Janet Evanovich.

Laura Childs (teashop mysteries/scrapbooking mysteries), Cleo Coyle (coffeehouse mysteries) are the ones that come to mind.

Rebecca Wells is amazing.

I also like Tate Hallaway's Garnet Lacey series for a quick read. The plit lines are a little crazy, but they are still a good read.
