I just finished these for a swap. And I wrote up a tutorial for them on my blog.

My tree's theme is birds. I can't wait to make these! (starting in January when I have some time of course) Also, they look smashing on the jade. If dc pull the tree down I guess I can just decorate the house plants!

Beautiful! Mind sharing your source for roving? I'd love to make some of these, too. Thanks!!

Thanks everyone

dillionandmarasmom (that's a mouthful!) I generally buy roving from a Waldorf school local to me (so if you have one local to you call them and see if they have a store or can point you to a local source) but actually for this project I didn't have time to get out there and discovered that my chain craft store, A.C. Moore carries small amounts of roving. I've heard rumors that Joann Fabrics (the bigger ones) and Michaels might too. Otherwise, head to google... endless sources. Etsy too!

Have fun and please link a photo if you make one, I'd love to see it!

Love these! Do you think the eggs could be wet felted? I haven't tried wet felting, but I have tried needle felting and didn't enjoy it at all. I could probably just use warm water and soap and roll the roving into egg shapes, right?

Darling - thanks for sharing!

I enjoyed your blog, and have just spent way too much time working my way down your blogroll too. I love these little peeks into other families lives, and getting ideas from what they are up to.
Cheers!

Sweet! And they'd look lovely with these birds I was thinking of making.

would you mind being more specific, especially if this works? i know i can get roving, but don't see myself doing much (if ever) needle felting...

My craft list just keeps getting longer and longer, but thanks! I think my mom would LOVE to have a few of these in her plants. She's a plant-a-holic!
