I've co-slept with DS since day one. Between the ages of 4 and 12 months, he woke very frequently, often every 1-2 hours. There were times when it was worse and some better times as well.
Anyway, around when he turned 1, we started consistently getting longer stretches of sleep, 3-4 hours I'd say. I posted a similar thread at that time, hoping to give mamas in my situation some hope.
Well, it keeps getting better! He's 13.5 months now, and the past week or two he's been sleeping up to 5 hours at a time, or more!! I'll usually join him in bed between 10 and 11. I might or might not nurse him at that time. Then, it seems like he doesn't wake to nurse until 4 or 5am!!! I've done nothing to encourage this, he's changing all on his own. He does sometimes wake and cry for a few seconds, but if I just play dead or say "it's your sleepy time" he will flop himself into a new position and go straight back to sleep
(BTW, in the very early morning he is starting to reposition himself onto me! It's usually cute and I enjoy the cuddles, but at some point last night I woke up with him sleeping on my neck, and I felt like I was slowly being strangled.
)
All this in spite of the fact that his second molar just popped through - it doesn't seem to have affected his sleep at all!!! I hear the canines are bad though...
