My DD is 20 months and over the last couple months we've tried a couple different gentle nightweaning methods. I'm at the point where I can't take it anymore, everyday I wake up and pray for more patience but by the time bedtime comes, I can't take it. She starts in her toddler bed and when we go to bed, when she wakes up after that, she comes in our bed. What I've done for the past 7 days is everytime she wakes up, I nurse her back to sleep and lay her back in her bed. She will lay back down until about 4 am. I just can't nurse all night long anymore, I've been trying to get pregnant and I know its the nightnursing (as a fluke, last month she slept through the night for a week and 2 weeks later I got my first PP AF...I've done nothing different in terms of her schedule).
Telling her she can nurse when the sun comes up does not work with her. Keeping her in bed with us and not nursing does not work, she just really associates our bed with nursing. We tried Gordon's method, no luck. I really don't want my husband to put her to bed (aka have her cry with my husband while I disappear) plus 3 nights a week he has apprenticeship class so I HAVE to put her to sleep.
I do understand that she MAY not be ready, but I REALLY REALLY have no patience left...which is why I'm trying to nightwean gently. I do NOT want to wean her during the day, just at night (and that week she STTN proves to me that she can do it).
She has all her teeth except 2 year molars...was going to try a teething necklace...would that help her sleeping at night? She has been gnawing on a lot of toys lately. But she has never really slept well. Even during the day, she doesn't nap well.
Any suggestions? I NEED help!!!! ANYTHING.......
Thanks!
