So the prodomal labor begins and DH's hockey game. vent

Of course Saturady being a day that I really didn't want the baby to come the prodomal labor starts.
Dh at the leafs game, my Mom had a migrane and my MW and her partner off.
Had uncomfortable ones from about 5 -8:30 when I was able to get the kids to bed and lay down.

I will start of by saying that DH has been really good for the most part this pregnancy but boy oh boy did he pull a big one.

After knowing that I was having contractions earlier and assuring me that if I needed him he be home in a hour from the time I called.

I went to bed with the kids expecting DH to be home around 11 pm

The next morning I got up with the kids and let him sleep. Aound 10 I went to get him up so I could get in the shower. I walked in the room and it smelled like a brewery. Dh is majorly hung over and wouldn't get up but denies that he is hung over. Said he only had 5 beers

I wont go into details because quite frankly I am embarassed by his childish irresponsible behavior. My fresh clean bed needed to be changed and I have to reclean my soaker tub. I could puke I am so mad. Just what I needed, to reclean things that I just cleaned in prep for the homebirth.
Yesterday is the day that he was supposed to take the kids skating which he was to hung to do. It broke my heart but there was no way I can take them right now. ( thankfully my wonderful Dad took DD)

DH slept puked and tried to blame it on bad chicken wings all day yesterday
That is what made me the most angry was that he couldn't even admit and take responsibility. Now he is home from work today

I am so tired because I was up with BH all night long and no chance to get any extra sleep.

Oh, that really, really stinks. Your dh needs a swift kick! I hope you find some way to get some rest and your dh comes to his senses.

I'm so sorry mama!! I would be mad too, that is completely unacceptable. I hope he apologizes and gets his act in gear for the labor and helping you out.

I feel you. My DH came home a bit tanked (not as much as yours sounds like he was) on Friday, later than he was suppose to and I hit the roof. We had made a deal that after 38 weeks he would not have more than 2 drinks because we too are having a homebirth and I need him sharp. He kept trying to tell me that he wasn't that drunk and if something went down he's be able to handle it and to convince me it was only a couple of extra drinks. By 11pm he was snoring, dead alseep and reeking of booze. Gross. And the next day was my birthday!

Anyway, I tore him a new one the next day and he spent the rest of the weekend cleaning the bathroom and taking care of the last minute things that I've been asking him to do (stuff I can't) for weeks.

Anyway, I hope your DH gets the message that getting drunk is SO not OK at this stage in the game!
