Have any of you tried out the Earth Pan brand pots and pans? Our current non-stick pans are starting to chip, so we're about to buy a new set.
Here's the link for the regular Earth Pan set
Here's the link for the Earth Pan II set.
The main differences I see are that the Earth Pan II set has silicone handles, and only a 6qt stock pot. The first set has stainless steel handles and an 8qt stock pot.
Consumer Reports rates the Earth Pan as the second best pot and pan set of those they tested (with the highest rated being a 300 dollar set).
They're oven safe to 600 degrees. Dishwasher safe, though hand washing is preferred.
I'm not interested in shifting away from non-stick, but I would love a safer option.
Our first set of pots and pans have lasted us over 5 years (and I cook a LOT), just as some sort of indicator of how we take care of our pots and pans (I don't know how long they should last). We're waiting to buy our next set for when we move, and can put up a pot&pan rack in the kitchen.
It looks like the sites geared towards people who cook give it better ratings than Amazon, where I'm guessing some of the issues are coming from people using metal utensils, and such.
Anyhow... just curious if anybody has had any experiences with this brand.
Thanks!
