We're heading into our third or fourth week of friction blisters and I'm getting a bit frustrated. It started as really painful nursing just on the right side. We tired playing with positioning and it got a bit better but not before I developed some blistering on the outer side of my right nipple. Now I have blisters on the top of my right nipple (one of which turned into an open wound last night) and blisters on my top to inner side of my left nipple. DS has both his top eye teeth coming in which I'm sure is contributing to the problem. I've been slathering my nipples with lanolin as often as I remember and I try to nurse him more on the left and start him on that side at the times I know he's likely to drain both. When he latches on the right I've been compressing my breast which seems to help with the pain too. Anyone BTDT? Is this a temporary teething related issue or is there something else coming in to play? Anything I should be doing other than the lanolin?
