Changing the colour of a wedding veil

Does anyone know how to change the colour of a white wedding veil to become and ivory colour.

theoretically, you could tea dye it - but honestly, with something that precious, I'd be very hesitant to try.

To be more sure of the shade you get, I'd use an ivory colored dye from http://dharmatrading.com . If it's cotton or linen use the procion dye, if silk use acid dye, and follow their instructions carefully (for that shade in linen you use 1/2 the normal amount of Procion dye). I used their Ivory dye on an underdress and the shade was perfect.

We dyed my veil (which was a piece of lace really, which we attached to a head piece that was my grandmother's). My mom & I did a weak tea dye. It was very beautiful. We started with a weak tea (regular black tea) for a light ivory, and it was perfect. But then, my mom & grandmother were both very English so it all kind of went together, lol.

I used to work in a bridal salon and there were a few times we had to die veils. We also did a weak tea die. Just watch it carefully for the color you want.
