We couldn't have asked for a better birth experience. With the way DS1s birth went (water broken mon 8am, contrx start tuesday noonish with castor oil, long labor at birth center ending in a transfer for epidural to help relax my pelvis since labor was stuck at 9cm for awhile- birthed my son with vacuum assist and epi and pit 3hrs after being at hospital)....Iwas worried.
Contrx started around 7pm saturday night, they were bareable but noticeable and rather regular at 10-15min apart, throughout the night they picked up but I was mostly able to sleep (or stay in bed and not get up for contrx). By 8am in the morning they were getting stronger and mostly regular at 4-7 mins apart...I called my father in law to come get DS1 while making myself breakfast- he took a while to get there but I'm glad I called when I did (I think he was expecting another DS1 labor). I did get a few breaks and was able to lay down in between very briefly. Around 1pm contrx were getting stronger so I figured I'd call my midwives just to give them a heads up since it was a sunday. After talking to me and hearing me have a contrx on the phone she suggested I come in for a check at 2pm and I hesitantly agreed, but boy am I glad I did now! Contrx got more intense before I got into car but spaced out a little in the car- I was trying to keep my hips moving to keep them going. Once we got to the birthing center, things started picking up (2-3min apart) At 2:30p I was 5cm+ with a contrx and baby was 0station LOT. I walked outside for a bit and she gave me some homeopathy to help get the baby to rotate. Contrx were getting stronger and steady at about 2-3mins apart for a while. My water broke with a contrx on the toilet about 4:30p and contrx got very intense. My MW said they sounded different and asked me if they felt like "push contrx" and I was half in denial and said I don't know. 2 contrx later there was no denying it and I screamed I gotta push...She checked me- I was fully. They set up the birth stool and I leaned against my DHs chest (he sat on side of bed). About Four contrx later I was holding my precious daughter. The cord was loosely around her neck once (it was long). I told her....we did it! Shes amazing....Less than 3hrs at the birth center and we were holding her. Amazing! 7lbs 5oz, 20 3/4 in
